THE 50-year history of marlin fishing off Cairns is to be recognised with a life-size sculpture of an 1100-pound (500kg) black marlin on the city’s waterfront.
Today the Cairns Game Fishing Commemorative Association launches a campaign to raise $500,000 to build the stainless steel monument near the Reef Fleet terminal in Spence St, at the entrance to the Marlin Jetty.
