Calcutta payouts will be made in Australian dollars (AUD) to an Australian bank account only.

Payouts will be made less applicable transaction and administration costs associated with the Calcutta, including credit card processing fees and other associated payment costs.

All Calcutta purchases are final and non-refundable, except in the case of a full tournament cancellation as outlined below.

Can our team buy our own boat before it goes to auction?
Yes. From 1–5 September, each competing team has the opportunity to purchase the Calcutta rights to its own boat for $2,000 AUD.

What happens if we don’t buy our own boat?
Any boat not purchased by its own team by the end of 5 September will automatically enter the Online Calcutta Auction.

When is the Online Calcutta Auction?
Online bidding will run from 6–15 September.

Who can bid in the online auction?
Registered bidders may participate. A valid credit card payment method must be registered before a bid can be placed.

Can we still bid on our own boat once it reaches the online auction?
Yes. Once a boat enters the Online Calcutta Auction, it is available for bidding in the same way as every other boat.

Can I bid on more than one boat?
Yes. Registered bidders may bid on multiple boats and may ultimately purchase the Calcutta rights to more than one boat.

What happens if a boat receives no bids online?
Any boat remaining unsold when the online auction closes will be offered for live auction at the Tournament Welcome Event.

How is the Calcutta prize pool divided?
50% will be paid for 1st Place, 30% for 2nd Place and 10% for 3rd Place. The remaining 10% will be retained by the Cairns Professional Game Fishing Association.

Who receives the payout if I purchase a boat?
The registered purchaser of the Calcutta rights to the successful boat will be recognised for payment purposes.

Is a bid binding?
Yes. All bids are binding and create an obligation to pay if you are the successful bidder. Please do not place a bid unless you are prepared to complete the purchase. All successful purchases are final and non-refundable.

What if several people contribute to purchasing a boat?
The Association will recognise the registered purchaser for payment purposes. Any private syndicate, partnership or sharing arrangement is the responsibility of the parties involved.

How will winnings be paid?
All payouts will be made in AUD to an Australian bank account only.

Are any costs deducted from winnings?
Yes. Payouts will be made less applicable transaction and administration costs, including credit card processing fees and associated payment costs.

Are Calcutta purchases refundable?
No. All Calcutta purchases are final and non-refundable.

What determines the Calcutta placings?
Calcutta placings will follow the official tournament results for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place, subject to the Tournament Rules and the official determination of results.

What happens if a boat is disqualified?
A boat disqualified from the official tournament results will also be ineligible for any associated Calcutta payout.

What happens if the tournament is shortened due to weather or other circumstances?
If the Tournament Committee declares an official tournament result, that result will determine the Calcutta placings and payouts.

What happens if the tournament is entirely cancelled?
If the tournament is cancelled and no official tournament result is declared, all Calcutta monies will be refunded to the credit card used to make the original payment, less any applicable payment processing or transaction fees.

When will Calcutta winnings be paid?
Calcutta winnings will be paid within 30 days of the conclusion of the tournament to the registered purchaser’s nominated Australian bank account.
