The CPGFA has moved into the new millenium with the continued aim of representing the professional game fishing charter operator and the people who work within the industry.

This representation goes much further than just the Cairns region, with members right down the east coast of Australia. Lobbying to government and industry, on behalf of those members will continue as a matter of importance.

Along with the CPGFA's "Code of Practice" and a separate "Mooring Code of Practice", the association's members lead the way in the tourism industry in both conduct and safety. The very important ongoing research into the fishery is of high priority and CPGFA will continue it's support into the future.

Bodo Muche 1000lb release bronze Started in the late 1990's, specially commissioned Bodo Muche 1000lb release bronzes and certificates have encouraged anglers to release large breeding fish and be recognized for their contribution to the conservation of the Black Marlin. These beautiful limited edition Bodo Muche bronzes are available for purchase by anglers who tag and release a Black marlin in excess of 1000lb.

The association is a non-profit organization which relies on members subscriptions, tournaments, art unions and social events such as the "Blessing of the Fleet", BBQ's and family days for its funds. All work carried out by the members on behalf of the members, and the industry is purely voluntary.

The Executive Committee and Committee are elected every twelve months and over the years many dedicated people have given their time voluntarily for the benefit of the game fishing industry.
